Drawing Workshop | £18 |
Royston Cave, Melbourn St, Royston, SG8 7BZ
1:00pm Friday 26th June 2026
Join me for a unique drawing workshop inside the historic Royston Cave. This immersive one-hour session invites you to create your own artwork inspired by the cave’s remarkable carvings and mysterious atmosphere.
Discovered by accident in 1742, Royston Cave is a fascinating man-made, bell-shaped chamber carved 8 metres into the chalk beneath Royston’s ancient crossroads of Ermine Street and Icknield Way.
Drawing Session: We will work through a series of drawings designed to explore contrast, texture, and light, within this extraordinary underground space. All art materials will be provided, including paper and a variety of dry drawing tools. Please note that no wet drawing materials are allowed inside the cave.
A guide from Royston Cave will lead us underground and give a brief introduction before the workshop begins. This is an art session rather than a historical guided tour. The session lasts approximately 60 minutes and lighting inside the cave will be subdued.
• Adults only - no children permitted
• Entry is by guide only
• Tickets must be booked online at Royston Cave
